Homewood Suites by Hilton Kalamazoo-Portage

I stayed at this location for close to a month. Housekeeping not very attentive to requests. I repeatedly had to ask for the bathroom liquids to be replenished because my room would be cleaned and they would obviously not be checked. I must note the grills at this location are a extreme fire hazard. The tanks are covered in grease and they also have no drip pans and extremely dirty but I guess when the propane isn't changed ever and you can't use them then no worries right? The washer destroyed multiple pieces of my clothing and the dryer barley dried anything. The only ice maker that works in the entire location is on the 4th floor. Absolutely unacceptable. This is a big location but more attention is needed to some of the above mentioned areas. The front desk staff are all very friendly but at the end of the day the issues I had left more of an impression. The rooms are somewhat ok but ran down and minor repairs being ignored can have a lasting impression on customers. Grout in tiles is filthy and there is missing trims all around the room.

Reserved room directly through Hilton. Showed up at 2:15am after driving two and a half hours and front desk told me they didn't have my room and there's nothing they could do. I told them I had confirmation email, they said sorry, not their fault, nothing they can do. After asking for a refund, they said there's nothing they can do. I decided to call number on website to try to figure out how to get my money back, they told me to leave the property and if I didn't they would call the cops. I told them I wasn't leaving until I figured out how to get my money back for a confirmed room. Dana Davis was the rude front desk employee who threatened to call the police if I didn't leave. Even the supervisor they called was rude and told them to make me leave the property. Dana Davis especially though, is an embarrassment to the Hilton brand.

Stayed here during Thanksgiving week. It's a very good hotel except for the Wi-Fi, which is hardly usable. I'm not talking about streaming and viewing movies, but doing basic tasks like writing emails and reading websites. I told the front desk, but the situation did not improve; it was intermittent throughout the stay. I tried it down in the lobby and it was no better.

Had a not so awesome experience here tonight… we were placed right next door to a very rambunctious children’s birthday party… children running up and down the halls at all hours, screaming bloody murder, acting foolish. brought it to the front desks attention and a lovely gentleman working told us if they didn’t stop (at 11pm) then we could move rooms. it is now midnight, had to complain again about screaming and was told by the new lady on shift that there was nothing she could do and we would have to call the police because she didn’t want to cause any “conflict” with the guest. absolutely ridiculous. you can hear the kids in the lobby and they are on the second floor! never staying here again.
